Freddie Mercury  (and Queen)



             
He was born as Farookh Bulsara on September 5 , 1946 , in Zanzibar ,Tanzania. The name of his parents are Bomi and Jer Bulsara.
He studied piano in India and he moved to London to study arts. There, he met many musicians.
After playing with some other bands, he created Queen in 1971. As the head of this band he was one of the most innovative and talented singers of the rock era. He was a singer and also an artist on scene.
Queen was composed by Freddie, Brian May , Roger Taylor and John Deacon, and their songs reached the top of US and British charts.
Among the most popular songs we can remark: “Bohemian Rapsodhy” (1975) a seven minute rock operetta, “We are the champions” and “We will rock you” (1978). This last two songs are classicals very used at sports events.
At 80’s they changed their music to disco and symphonic rock style and they produced many other important hits like: “Another one bites the dust” and “Crazy Little thing called love”
Freddie Mercury died still young of AIDS – bronchial pneumonia on November 24 ,1991 at age 45 and he left a legacy of very significant musical compositions that will remain in history.
